Getting an Estimate

    At Yorkville Auto Body we prefer to inspect your car personally rather than use photos. We will make detailed notes of your automobile's damage and your desired results.

  2. What you will need:

    • Insurance company name & claim number, if applicable

    • Responsible party's name, phone, and email

What To Do In Case Of An Accident:

Safety First

  • Turn hazard lights on & set out flares or reflective safety equipment.

  • Do not leave the scene.

  • Remain calm and call 911 to report the accident and request medical help for any injuries.

  • Move your vehicle off the road if drivable and safe to do so.

  • In the case of severe injuries, do not move vehicles.

 

Collect Information

  • Secure the names & contact information of involved parties and witnesses. Gather insurance policy data, license plate number and vehicle make, model, and year.

  • Use your cell phone’s camera to take videos and photos of paper documentation and of the accident scene.

  • Avoid discussion of fault.

File a Report

  • In the case of a minor collision with no injuries, the police may not be able to respond. You may file a report at the nearest police department or on their website.

  • If the police arrive, learn how to get a copy of the accident report.

Insurance

  • Contact your insurance company.

  • Drive or have your car towed to Yorkville Auto Body as soon as possible. We will initiate an insurance claim for you and work on your behalf with the insurance company.

Facts You Should Know:

  • You are not required to get more than one estimate for an insurance claim.

  • You may select the shop of your choice to make repairs. You are not required to use a shop selected by your claims adjuster; however, you are required by your policy to allow your insurance company a reasonable amount of time to inspect the damages prior to repair.

  • Only the vehicle owner can authorize repairs to your vehicle.

  • Repair estimates will vary and a lower estimate may not include necessary things. It's your vehicle, make sure it's repaired to your satisfaction.

  • Your insurance company wants your vehicle properly repaired and for you to be completely satisfied with their claims service. You have specific rights and obligations. Review your policy. Understand your rights. If you do not understand the information, we will gladly help you.

  • Our shop stands ready to assist you in any of these matters. We will work closely with you to minimize your inconvenience and maximize your satisfaction.

Car Care Tips:

  • Check the oil level

  • Check the coolant level

  • Check the brake fluid level

  • Check and clean wiper blades

  • Check the windshield washer fluid

  • Check that headlights are working on bright and on dim; also taillights, brake lights, turn signals, fog lights

  • Check the tire pressure, tread, and condition
